What the hell are they doing to the CS on Cable Street?
Simply blocking the path and putting up signs "cyclists dismount" and not providing a safe route round or even a proper sign posted diversion is totally unacceptable. They wouldn't be allowed to do something so shoddy for motorised traffic.

In terms of the peds at crossings - it may help if they looked and waited for an appropriate time to cross (as they do most of the time for motorised traffic). My experiences at the crossings around Shadwell station have been pretty scary. Even if I am riding at 10 mph I still need more room to stop than the inches the peds seem to think I can stop in. Many just walk straight out without even looking at whats coming in either direction on the cycle path.

Although some cyclists don't help trying to ride it like they are trying to beat Froome In a sprint finish.

Not supposed to do it for cycles either . Chapter 8 of road signs manual states that quite clearly.

Sighs. The annual 'return to work'. Summer holidays over. Tensions running high.
This morning a furious people carrier on Moss Lane East thought that, by swerving on to the cycle path, this manoevre could miraculously overtake the vehicle in front. My advice would be; get up earlier and don't rush into work. You can watch Good Morning Britain on catch up at home later.

Bad stuff happens on my commute every once in a while (very rarely) but I try and forget about it before I get home. Festering about it doesn't make me happy, so why bother? Almost all drivers are thoroughly decent people. I don't see any point in venturing out on the bike with an assumption that they are all utter b#stards. It would spoil my fun.
I always approach my commute how my driving instructor taught me all those years ago - assume everyone else is a total idiot! ^_^
