I have recently killed off my Specialized Tricross (2014). Currently looking for a replacement but have come across a few issues:

Current cyclocross bikes seem to have gone into puss mode and no one offers up one above 46t chainset. (the tricross was 52t/46t/36t)

Looked at maybe a gravel bike but these seem to be overpriced based on being road bikes with bigger tyre clearance.

Anyone think or know if its better just go for a road bike that can clear 32mm tyres rather than a cyclo/gravel?

The bike would be used for work commuting and doing winter training. plus the Paris>Roubaix Sportive next year

Could you not specify a 52t when you order one?
Just a thought :okay:

Ribble let you spec, as do PX and Dolan, just avoid the off the peg models if you can't get what you want

Or you could just look for a replacement tricross?

Er, a proper cross bike would have a 46/36 for the close ratios you need for racing and certainly not a triple. But then a Tricross isn't considered a proper cross bike. Puss......
