You'd think the BBC would learn after the humungous, steaming pile of pants that was BoneKickers.....

Ah yes, that was utter cack...

Not watched The Deep, clashed with Mitchell and Webb.

The Deep, useful only to keep your mind away from reality. No cycling for past week and the same for the next week. Have 3 recorded but may delete. Not that bored.

Can anyone think of a drama writer who actually has any technical knowledge of the subject?

Maybe Wilbur Smith for his knowledge of the African bush?

Now that is terrible this year, I've been a fan of their work before, but this series is just dreadful/

I don't think it's been as good as previously, certainly.

Still, it gives me me regular David Mitchell fix.

Re The Abyss. A good film whose storyline was only spoilt by having a man swim between two parts of a structure that is supposed to be a thousand feet or so down on the sea bed where the water pressure would have crushed him instantly.

Wrong, I'm afraid. The structure had a moonpool, so would by necessity have already been pressurised to the same ambient pressure of that depth. In other words, the pressure inside Deepcore was the same as the pressure outside.

It's been embarrassingly poor this year - I used to love it before, but they've really slumped.

Arch, I was standing beside the object of your desire on Monday in Edinburgh - had I known I'd have thrown him in a sack and posted him to you...

(Was at the recording of two episodes of 'The Unbelievable Truth' in Princes Street Gardens, and he was wandering about in the bar /food area behind the tent blethering on his mobile after chatting to Barry Cryer)

Haven't watch Sherlock get but I understand Mark Gatiss is involved so for the recommendations here, I'll give the next episode a go.

I would really like to see "Survivors" back again. It's silly in places but the the characters, the plot and the action in the latter part of the second series was pretty entertaining.

I actually re-watched the 70s series recently on DVD. How the pace of drama has changed over the years!
