Ah well, four months of cycling home from work in the dark.

Always takes a bit of getting used to the first week in November, as there isn't really a full transitions period, it goes from twilight to full darkness in the space of a weekend.

Why can't the Scots keep their beloved GMT and us Southerners keep BST. Such a pointless existence getting dark at 5PM. Give me dark mornings anyday.

Where did you get the idea that we love GMT? Daily Mail I presume?

Hate the switchover when the clocks go back...my least favourite time of year as it messes my bodyclock up for a bit. I only tolerate it as I love Guy Fawkes -however, will be abroad for a mix of leisure and work for a good chunk of several weeks so I can't complain too much, plus it will be warmer, sunnier and lighter

A spokesman for the Scottish government welcomed the commitment to consult the devolved administrations formally but added: "The Scottish government's established position is that there is no case for a change to existing arrangements."

And SNP MP Angus MacNeil said any change would have "massive implications for the safety and wellbeing of everyone living north of Manchester".

Titan yer tummy

No meatings b4 dinner!
But seriously I rather like the current arrangement. I remember the experiment in the late '60s: how the British autumn slowly morphed into winter and spring into summer on the opposite side of the year; it was very unsatisfying.

I like it when the seasons kick in with a clunk. So I suppose I agree with the sweaties here; that's a first for me.

Unlike you we don't all agree with whatever one of the provincial MP's says.
