It smells like a blocked sewer but once you get past that the taste is wonderful! Many hotels have signs up banning you from taking the things on to the premises!

And on some public transport. When I first asked about the fruit, I was told it "smells like sh!t, tastes like heaven".

So, looking back at the staring eyes, they resulted in a 62% drop in thefts. Matched by a 63% rise in thefts elsewhere. Not an unqualified success then.

Himself tried durian ice-cream in Singapore two years ago and still shudders at the memory. Smells like sh!te and tastes like it too. We were to scared to actually buy the fruit as the smell was enough. Might be worth rubbing it all over your bike to deter thieves.
