I always loved The Jam's music as a live band, their energy and power, Foxton's bass was ACE and he threw himself into it and Buckler's drumming was on the money, a bit military, but right for the band. Weller was good too, but the band as a unit were great. I saw them only once live at the Music Machine, a thousand years ago where my mates band Stripes were supporting them. I used love watching them on TV.

A local guy used to play keyboards for Weller. He ended up having a fair number of gigs/tours cancelled due to adverse drinking conditions.

I am interested in your opinion, perhaps you would care to explain the logic underlying your conclusion?
Never did like them.
Being Mods had a lot to do with it. (Me being a raging headbanger during their time).
Like the Beatles & The Clash (Who like the Jam I do concede have a place in music history) I just think they were very overrated. And hearing them over the years hasn't changed my opinion.
