I can't bear to part with books either. I can hardly get into my bedroom any more because it's full of books.

I am a bookworm, I love reading, I love the feel of a real book, the smell, the texture of the paper..and i've got shelves full of books that i can never bare to part with.
But... I have discovered the joys of the Kobo app on my phone, it will never replace a real book, but over the last 2 months has been invaluable. I carry my phone everywhere with me, it's only 3x5" sometimes it's just not practical to carry a hefty book, sometimes 2nd best is actulay pretty good

Lovely video. Books are amazing things. I've kept hold of a lot of them since I was a child, including dictionaries that I used 45 years ago, the first science fiction books I read as a teenager, the first encyclopaedia I ever had (second hand, and full of 1950's references to a world long changed now), my first Patrick Moore astronomy book - 40 years old and going strong. They share shelf space with hundreds of other books that each have places and times associated with them - how I acquired them, where I was when I first read them. Nothing can supplant the memories they bring turning the pages. We've kept all our own childrens' books for them too.

I read a fair bit electronically - it's useful and serves a purpose. In my mind there's room for both formats to co-exist as they are to me quite different experiences and I can't see me ever getting sentimental about an electronic copy of any text!
