Just taught my colleague the magical undo function of <Ctrl-Z> after he did something wrong, but wasn't too sure what it was. Probably moving a directory rather than a file.

Which got me thinking of how my life has been enhanced by discovering this keyboard shortcut. For example:
1) My wife came downstairs in her new posh dress, and asked the question "What do you think?". Without thinking, I answered "Makes your bum look big." As the words came out, I realised that I had made an almighty mistake, and quick as a flash, yelled "Ctrl Z", immediately followed by "Shows off your curves nicely." Wife smiled, and said "Thank you".
2) Riding home last week, got to the lights, and forgot that I was in my clipless shoes. Struggling to unclip them, my body reached 45° before I remembered the emergency function. Yelling "Crtl-Z", I found myself approaching the junction again, and successfully removed my shoes from the pedals, allowing me to place my feet, rather than my face, on the road.

If you watch The Ashes coverage, you will notice the Australian batsmen glance at the sky, and exclaim "Crtl-Z" in desperate hope. Looks like it was too late for them.

Does it get back an email I have just sent and then re-read to realise it says something completely different?

I've only just discovered the Windows key - quite a handy shortcut. Mind you, to be fair, I've only been using XP for a decade or so...

There is a "retrieve e-mail" option on Outlook Express. However it only seems to work on colleagues and friends on .cc, and not on suppliers and customers, or those on the "to" list. i.e. only those where it doesn't matter.
