this evening... just as I left work about 5pm. The rain was so heavy that it hurt and I had to take cover. It turned thr road into rivers. There was also a lightning strike in the vicinity, followed by the loudest thunderclap I have heard in many a year. This was in Lewisham. Anyone else hear/see it? By the time I got to Bromley the roads were dry... amazing

I got caught in the same(ish) cloudburst when it hit Norbury. I thought it was a bit loud and looked down to see chips of ice bouncing off my jacket. I also heard a VERY loud thunderclap.

Oh well, what do you want in a British summer? - sunshine?

Yeah, I had to cancel all my lessons tonight, hid out in the tennis club and then cycled home in a break in the weather. That was a monster thunderclap!

had similar here at 3pm, I was returning from doing the shopping for the weekend (in the c*r). It was so bad that I contemplated taking the c*r to work tonight. But luckily it's improved no end so I'm just off to get changed, might not even need my overshoes.

I hate it when it hurts, surprisingly bad are snow flakes in to the eyes, so much so I'm contemplating getting some cycling glasses

I saw the weather from my office chair. Thought FRACK...
I had no chance of leaving my bike at work as the building owners are doing a clear of the car park and will remove any bikes left their.
So put on waterproof jacket... got out side. and it's bloody sunny without a rain drop in sight. bollocks!
