Since returning to this country it has become apparent to me that there have been some changes to the hightway code.
1. Cycles are not welcome on the road or on the pavment or in the bus lane.
2. If you travel on four wheels no matter what you do even if it is wrong you are always in the right.
3. If travelling towards a roundabout if it is not safe to do so over take and then break and the last minute even if there is less than five yards to go before the round about.
4. Cyclist go out of their way not to be seen flashing lights, yellow fluro jackets are all used to sheild them from the gaze of all other road users.
5. Horns shouting and any general loud noise used as a warning by a cyclist are to be avoided at all costs.
6. Pedistrians take care when crossing the road look out for on coming traffic confrontation with a moving car is to be avoided at all costs unless its a bike in which case step out when you feel like it and expect the bicycle to stop as they are always at fault.
Cycle Lines.
1. Always fly tip.
2. Always smash bottles.
3. There are sometimes two lanes one marked with a cycle pedestrians always walk in both the cycle sign is there to indicate to cyclist that they have no right to be there.
4. Despite the fact you may have fields, roads, footpaths cycle lanes are great place to let your dog / horse foul as you dont have to clean it up after you.
5. Dog walking is fine even better if you have a retractable dog lead let your dog wander across the path dont worry about other users you are always in the right.
