It never went out of fashion. It's the best and lest offensive way of asking walkers to move, it only fails with older folk who can't hear the high frequencies.

Just got back love the idea of the bell

Note on child behavior: Just Spent a week in hostels never seen a bad behaved child (young adult) they were not little angels but they knew when to draw the line. it restored my confidence in young parents and children.

For that reason I use a large "Ice Cream Bell"

Two different sounds as the spring is tensioned and released.
