That's crazy! The little bugger could have had you off.

Can you be 100% certain the 'firework' is not in fact another squirrel wearing a jetpack?

Try commuting to work by bike in Syria!

A mate of mine was working in Beirut many years ago when it was all kicking off. He told me how he'd disconnected the rear light on his motorbike so snipers woukdnt take pot shots at night!

Yowsers that was close! I saw the squirrel at 5 secs in, looked at the length of the video (1:26) and then thought "jeez, how many more suicidal squirrels are there?". Then realised you did a slow-mo replay

This evening it was a firework

Glad to see I'm not the only one ! Scares the bejusus out you doesn't it! Good for a 2mph more for the next few minutes ;-)

I was once out with a friend and a squirrel somehow managed, and I kid you not, to go thru his back wheel.

Over the years I've taken out a couple of rabbits which I've had to go back and finish off :-(

Muntjac deer are the really scary ones. Hitting one of those would really ruin your day. The way their legs go all over the place as their hooves fight for grip on tarmac really gives you no confidence they'll get out of the way.

That is a very lucky squirrel, it looks like you actually hit it?
Yeah, my wheel hit the rear of it and then I actually went over the tail. Could feel it through the handlebars.

I was on a club ride many moons ago and we were travelling down a coastal shared use path in the dark. One of the riders at the front had a rabbit run right into his front wheel. He amazingly was able to stop without falling off but ended up with a broken spoke.
The rabbit didnt exchange details so we passed it onto the police as a hit and run.
