Anyone else watch this?

I enjoyed the first 2 series (despite the obvious attempt to copy the Apprentice).

You had some quite good cooks and restaurants, plenty of constructive feedback from Raymond Blanc and then the 2 worst restaurants faced a challenge the next day.

This series it's been crammed into 1 show a week and the restaurants are a joke.

The 2 foppish posh boys can't cook at all and have a crap idea for a restaurant.

They've completely got rid of the bit where Raymond gave them all feedback and generally dumbed it down I reckon.

Yes, and I agree. In the first couple of series you didn't have to suspend your disbelief too far to imagine that the ones approaching the final might just be able to run a restaurant. But none of the current bunch seem to have the basic competencies, rather they seem to have been selected on the basis of being 'good telly'. It is too much like Ben Elton's Chart Throb...

I cannot stand that pair, they are both total and utter tossers. Quite why they weren't chucked out early on is beyond me. Raymond should just march in with an AK47 and get rid of them once and for all.

Yep, it does seem to have been dumbed down a lot - this series has definitely not been as good.

Yep - completely dumbed-down and had its budget cut. How the judges could even consider risking going into business with any of those on the series is beyond me.

If I was Raymond Blanc I'd be ashamed of what this series has done for my image and my brand; it's been cheapened.

Fair play to the guy though, he's on Twitter and is reading the opinions from viewers on there, and commenting back. Obviously, as he says, he can't really say anything more about the standard of the contestants until the series is over- but I don't think he's too happy.

Exactly what I've been thinking since episode 1.

I missed the first series but last year there were at least a few credible couples amongst the obvious incompetents. I know that part of the fun is watching the occasional disasterous cock-up, but this series that's pretty much all the show has been about.

I'd be surprised to see it returning to our screens next year.

I wonder if he sees the 2 posh boys as the only couple with any business sense - they already run their own cocktail bar - and they'll win for that reason.

It appears cookery is irrelevant this year eg the couple knocked out this week for being nervous doing the demo in front of 100 people. What has that got to do with running a restaurant?

He could then just bin the crap idea of "picnic food" all year round and just erm have them run a chain of cocktail bars. Even JJ could probably tip some peanuts onto a plate

If so I wish they'd have mentioned that it wasn't really a cookery programme at the start and I could have watched something else!
