Just to a farm.
I was trying to find a way through the lanes to Staveley as there are still some bridges out following Storm Desmond, I guess the farmer had got fed up of people asking for directions!
This is correct - we are still waiting for a number of bridges to be fixed. Apparently there are the oh-so-complex issues of having to re-route sewerage/water/utility pipes/lines to contend with during the rebuilding process as these are often linked to the bridges.
Good job it's not the 21st century and at least it's only 8 months since the storms.
Would've all been fixed by now if it was London.
No picture, but not far from my house a resident had put up a very funny sign to motorists who were trashing the edges of the tiny lane that everyone was using to avoid the (still) closed Burneside > Kendal bridge.
It went into some detail as to how the motorists could work out which bits of the lane were for tyres and which bits were not. Completely ignored of course but amusing nonetheless.
