I think 'sister of carrots' is a decent description.
....maybe even more so if Q.I. is to be believed. I'm sure Mr Fry mentioned that the original carrots were not orange but parsnip coloured. The orange colour was cultivated by Dutch farmers to honour the Dutch royal family some years ago.![]()
