I'm off to Knockengorroch World Ceilidh straight after work tomorrow.

I've packed my kilt and celtic accoutrements along with a gazillion units of alcohol and a bread roll for sustenance and I'm looking forward to a weekend of fun, frivolity and fantastic music. I can't wait to get there to try out my new hat.

I will be taking the bike along. Not been out much at all really so need to stir some muscle memories and get the mojo back. If not get it back then at least catch a glimpse of it.
Bring your warm clobber, it's brass monkeys up here.

I'm heading to London for a training weekend with Raleigh International. After volunteering in Nicaragua earlier this year, I now need to start a campaign in the UK (or at least hold a presentation) and this weekend is to train us for doing just that.

Looking forward to sleeping in a freezing cold Scout hut...:cold:
Shouldn't this be in the helmet debates thread?

Have a great time, Vernon, and the best thing is, it'll be too cold for the midges!
You're bang on the money regarding the midges. The latest report from Knockengorroch is that it's been too cold for them to hatch. Last year was horrendous on the first night. A four hundred yard walk/sprint through 'midge smoke' to buy a midge hat/face guard was not fun for those not wearing a working repellant.

Weather forecast is good for Friday and Saturday though after the the first half bottle of Wray and Nephews on Friday evening I'll be past caring what the weather will bring for the weekend.

Freezing? Try Knockengorroch at this time of year. Its the only festival where you can get sunburnt, frost bite and eaten alive by insects in a weekend.

I don't think you've got quite enough rum there, Vern. Might want to chuck another one on the pile.

My weekend will be spent catching up on coursework and trying to catch up on my a&p and maybe squeezing a client or two in and I've even taken tomorrow off work to do so. I'm hoping that it'll stop being so bloody cold and that I'll find some time to go for a ride but it's not looking hopeful.
