The much lauded US cop drama is at last going to be shown on terrestrial TV tonight... and then every bleedin' night after until it's over.

What a ridiculous way to kill a series!!! That could be a whole year of well paced entertainment.

I'm going to watch the first one and buy the DVDs if it's good as they say it is.

I have seen the whole lot over all the times I have been to the US, it is very good in its entirety.

I just wonder why they can't just have an episode a week. It's stupid.

If it's that good and complex, it won't have enough time to bed into your imagination.

It needs some space in between the series as well, as there is a definite timeline going on.

First episode was excellent. Dickens to hill street blues via john le carre. No distracting famous actors either.

Will stop watching now and just buy the dvd.

Have to say I enjoyed it, but couldn't quite see what all the hype was about. Then again, hype does tend to do that - lead to a bit of a let down. On first viewing tho', didn't seem *that* different to a fair few things I've seen before...just with a lot more effing and blinding.
