I don't watch the prog as a rule, but something caught my ear this morning. They were commenting on a proposal to introduce "Presumed Liability" (my words) into the law regarding a collision between a car and cyclist. The driver would be presumes to be at fault unless he could prove otherwise.
Of course the dialogue produced the expected howls of protest from the tintops who phoned in. The other comments were about those idiots in big cities who make everyone's life a misery by running red lights.
I understand both Germany and Holland have presumed liabilty with respect to cyclists. It recognised the respective vulnerability of cyclist and car and puts the onus on the driver to pay extra care to cyclists.
Hope it becomes law, just to see Cl*rks*n's response.
