I remember as a kid in the 60's and 70's you would often see stuff that you don't see anymore like Flock Wallpaper in folks houses, or Avacado Dunlop Vinyl floor tiles. Ronco Record Cleaners and the "Buttoneer" . When going for walks along a river bank, or in the reception of a cheap hotel, there would alway be Bull Rushes, I never see them anymore..what happened to all them all? And Ken Goodwin was all over the telly...

What else do we not see anymore?

Local beat bobbies strolling the town, chatting to residents and shop owners that they're on first name terms with.
Children in prams and pushchairs parked up outside local independent shops waiting for their mums, (mine included) to finish their daily shop of fresh and seasonal produce.

CHIP and PIN is so boring, remember the fun of paying by credit card using one of those sliding thingeys that took a faint, almost illegible imprint of your card on carbon copy paper. I miss them, it made paying with your credit card seem like some sort of special event.

As a child we used to stay once a year in a cheap B&B in Derbyshire, they had a vase of peacock feathers and bullrushes behind the desk. Very 1970's!

Having to be the one as the youngest, who gets up, goes over to the telly, press the push button channel button, wait a mo, then.............................................bash it on the top back corner to stop the picture rolling after it changes channel.

Yes and good riddance to them. I remember in France watch a cack-handed clown double my card up with one of those things. It wouldn't straighten so was useless after that. Luckily I had another card with me to pay for fuel and food for the rest of the holiday.

I bought something on a CC years ago when they used those sliding thingies. Weeks later when the statetment came in the post, the amount was sowing as a credit not a debit. When I checked my receipts, I found that I had been issued a credit slip!

I remember as a kid while out playing with friends, you knew when it was time to head home, large packs of swallows would fly overhead just as the sun was going down and dusk was approaching, I think they were swallows it was a bloody long time ago ;-)
