Next time it rains like it did yesterday I'm going old-skool triathlete style; trunks and cycling shoes. Can you get prescription swimming goggles? those woulda helped.

Yes you can. My son has a pair ordered via his optician.

It was hot today, brutally hot with really high humidity -33'C. Saps the energy out of you -plus air quality is not too good, and you have to keep really well hydrated. The air feels heavier and you're really having to push through it.

Strange thing I like: when I get into work I'm really hot so I take a cold shower. The cold water hits my head -by the time it reaches the end of my back it feels like it's hot water!

Thing I don't like: coming back, about 1 km to go, I get sweat in my eye, and no matter how much I wipe my eye, the sweat gets back in my eye after about 100m. I had to keep stopping as I couldn't see -not counting it's pretty painful -that last kilometer took ages!

Dont forget to periodically remove the padding from your helmet (if you wear one..) and wash it, I am often reminded the hard way after reasonable weather followed by some torrential rain that washes the salt out of my helmet and into my eyes, not pleasant.
