Just spent a little time in emptying the living room.Monday morning the fllor is coming up, down to the joists.By accident at Christmas we found damp again. It cost a few thousand to put it right. a few years ago. This time it could only be a small attack coming from the chimney.Thats already been sorted this summer.I hate things being out of place,so lets hope the damp is only in a small area. Then i shall have the pleasure of decorating the room .Oh joy abounds praise be.

Damp is a feature of the houses in our street. I'm waiting until I go through the floor before I replace it.

postman its a bugger ain't it! When we brought our first house the sellers had to put in a chemical damp course before we moved in, after we moved in I noticed the new TV cabinet I brought seemed a little wobbly, when I came to decorate a short time later I discovered it wasn't the cabinet, I had wet rot in some of the joists. I had to replace half the joists and a big section of the floor, biggest DIY job I have ever done, I didn't have a clue how to do it when I started, I just learned it as I went along.
