I have a really uncomfortable feeling that this may be one of the local iconic cyclists I have seen and said hello to over the years. Always sad when there is a death but even more chilling when it is so close to home.

Its never good to hear about a death from a cyclist, thoughts with the family

It is a terribly chilling and unsettling feeling, perhaps knowing the person who's died.
A few years ago, we had a helicopter crash locally that killed someone who was (IIRC)at director level with Chelsea FC. A passenger was also killed, and when named, i thought, no, please don't let it be him, a guy who i'd been to Aston Villa and Peterborough FCs with on a few occasions.....it was
