I was wearing a brand new T-shirt for the first time yesterday when I put my bike back in the car. Silly me, I lifted the bike with the chain towards me and now I have oil chain on my brand new T-shirt. How can I remove the oil stains? Have you experienced this before?

Isopropyl alcohol. Lots of it. It worked on our carpet at the weekend.

I've had good results using degreaser and a nail brush before putting it in a normal wash. Others might insist on using Vanish but it's worked fine for me.

Rub Fairy liquid into the stain before washing it normally.

Spray the stain with WD40 then throw it into the machine with your normal wash.

If only he'd lubricated his chain with olive oil, he could have avoided the whole problem. If someone could start a thread about the possibility of using vegetable based oil as a chain lube, that would be great.
