And in the same trip, I had a very considerate car transporter driver who held back to let me move out into the right lane to avoid roadwork cones.

Good road use all round in that 2nd video. You look behind you well in advance, signal clearly and thank the driver. He seems happy enough to share the road. And nobody gets held up or hurt. Let's hope the cars he's delivering get driven equally well...

regarding the second video - its amazing the effect that giving the first vehicle the thumbs up has on cars etc behind, it almost always acts as a HINT to give more room.

good quality footage - i can see why these cameras are becoming more popular.

quite satisfying going past lines of traffic like that.

How tall are you! In the 1st video if you looked right at the right moment we could have seen the people on the top deck of the bus!

Are you a giant?!

I am pretty tall (190cm, 6'3.5" in old money), and my bike's a monster (in retrospect I should have gone for the XL frame instead of XXL, as I don't have a lot of clearance between the top tube and my jewels). Plus the camera is right at the top of my helmet, so that must easily add another 3-4 inches.

In general I'm pleased with the ContourHD, but it isn't that good in the dark.

So who noticed the 2 "interesting" manoeuvres by my fellow road users in the first video?

I dont think I have ever seen Ewell Village that busy with traffic before! Maybe i've never been through there at that time!

It was much busier than normal, I don't think I have ever seen it that busy either.

great vids. It's much nicer to see vids where there isn't a confrontation.

re interesting maneuvers do you mean
people carrier at 0:38 reversing at 90 degrees
wvm driving over pavement to turn left at 1:34

One of them has to be just after the white van turning left let one car out and the 2nd car tried to force his way out into your path. The camera angle indicates you gave them a full head-on stare - you know, that look that says 'OI!!!'

Not sure about the other one but there was a new blue Mini parked on a mini roundabout. No, that's not why they're called mini roundabouts!

I hadn't noticed the white van going over the pavement.
Yes, the 2nd car trying to barge his way onto the road. Just after I could hear him revving to try and overtake, but I was too quick, and then he turned off.

The 2nd one I was thinking of was the motorbike running through a red light at 2:07

Are they building a segregated cycle path on this one? surprised you dont get the usual beeping and angry pointing towards the cycle path

The shared use path is terrible. I usually go on the road, and do sometimes get gestures, including recently from a driving instructor.

Not sure what the actual plan is here though. Unless the cycle path takes precedence over side turnings and is properly segregated from pedestrians I won't use it.
