Correct amount tamped down in filter.. Check
Machine heated to correct temperature.. Check
Flow control set to auto... Check
Button pressed.. Check


Wander of for a minute of so while coffee percolates to perfection..
Return to kitchen in anticipation of the perfect beverage only to see it flowing across the work surface and running down the cupboard doors!!




Note to self: PUT A MUG UNDER THE SPOUT NEXT TIME, FOOL!!






I feel your pain. I recently discovered that my bread maker does not present you with lovely fresh baked bread in the morning ...... if you forget to attach the mixing paddle. Instead you get a foul smelling hot sludge to dispose of .

And if you forget to add water, you wake up to something that smells a bit like shortbread, but is totally inedible.

Whenever my Mum made bread by hand it came out like that, until she just gave up trying. Eventually, she bought a bread machine, egged on by friends singing the praises of theirs.
