This part hit the floor and I don't know what it is.

I have been getting my Trek 2.3 ready for spring and while I was putting on the saddle the metal part below hit the floor. I don't know what it is or even if it came off the bike. I took the picture with it beside a toothpick for size reference. I don't know if it is a bike part, a tool or what. The other end is not open like the top. I was just hoping someone would recognize it, it looks familiar but I don't know.

Have you got a Topeak Hexus II multi tool? It looks like the little adapter that sits over the 6mm Allen key to turn it into an 8 mm Allen key.

Yes I do. And you sir are a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you very much. That is it, I was using the Hexus II at the time. Now I don't have to worry about my brakes falling off and me running out in front of a truck. THANKS!

yep, 3 minutes I consider that incredible for such a small part. I looked, and I have 3 of these tools, and thought it was familiar. Could have taken me days to work it out.
