Get up, have an omelette from a local greasy spoon I quite like, go to the Job Centre for something... So no Harrods or bubbly for me, but at least I wont be working either!

Hotel pig based breakfast, day of meeting with the last one granting more hopefully easy later night traffic.

Don’t unpack the bags properly as I’m away tomorrow night (been 5 weeks since I actually emptied it with work and holiday stuff) 🤬

Morning

Fine again. Starting to enjoy this.
Off to the café in the sticks after retail necessities.

Beans has been wormed, inspected, weighed, vaccinated and admired. In celebration of the fitness test, he caught the same mouse twice. Mouse was twice repatriated into the garden.

Morning slacksters.

Still in hospital, they kept me in overnight. Had CT scan at 2am and more bloods. They think it's some bowel inflammation and they think it will clear with antibiotics. They no longer think an operation is necessary. Still in pain on and off but seems to be improving. At least its a good excuse to lie down and do sweet FA for a few days.

Watched Arsenal getting their bottoms kicked by PSG last night. Not as entertaining as Tuesdays semi final though.

Too early start. Dropped car off at a mates house, pedalled into town and will drop in on the way home to plot a route that makes it as hard as possible for our Dutch visitor (i.e. hills as he doesnt have any) the weekend after this one 😇

Any hill will do . When we cycle toured there we got so used to flat that we mumped when we had to cycle over a flyover.

Grey and chilly here. Swopped some pedals round as I’ve have difficulty getting my left foot out when I stop. Tried offending pedal with different shoes as it’s stiff on all despite being on lowest tension.
Later is trip to the dentist which will no doubt be a bit of patronising bollocking about my life style choice s then charge me lots of money for the privileg.

It won't be difficult round my way. We're going to include at least one trek up the North Downs Ridge which is 20%+, plus a trek up the South face of Toys Hill which a real will sapper. That, plus a half time pint and pastie for ballast.

Apparently some his Strava data has rides around the 100k mark with about 50m of vertical, so the experience will be good for him 🙂
