After 18 years of faithful service it's time to retire my old Trek 850. It has saved me well over £14,000 in travel costs in the time I've been commuting on it and I'd like something more modern and easier to maintain.

I have certain specific requirements in order of priority as follows:

1. Alfine 11 spd hub (or similar, but not Nexus)
2. Belt drive
3. Disc brakes

As a commuter it must obviously be able to accept mudguards and rear rack.
So far I've seen models from Avanti, Roux and Scott. Does anyone have any experience of these bikes or can recommend something else to suit?

Budget is £1000 and I'd prefer to deal with a LBS than order from the Internet.

As the 11spd hub is 400 quid without levers etc. Then I think 1K budget for a complete bike is very optimistic. Especially so if the rest of the bike is to match the quality of the hub.

Dawes Nomad is under a K some places.
Raleigh Nightflight is just over the K from BikeDiscount.de....

That Raleigh Nightflight looks like just what I'm after (aside from the lack of belt drive but that's fine) and looks a better deal than the Dawes. Thanks very much for the suggestion.

I wonder why it doesn't seem to be directly available in the UK?
