Well its defrosted somewhat up here not been on the bike since November! So road bike getting a look over, quick pump of the tyres and oil of the chain, should be good to go

Still deciding whether to go back by bike tomorrow, roads are clear (if potholed)
Bike hasn't been touched since my last ride early Dec, still has all the road grime and crap on it

Better put a few more psi in the tyres to help carry the extra post-Christmas weight.

i thought i would give the bike some adjustment and TLC.

chain was a little lot clattery on large sprockets at rear and small at front so tried to adjust indexing. could get it to be quiet at the extremes but not across the whole. closer inspection revealed a bent hanger on th rear mech.
a quick trip to LBS a new hanger sourced and then back home to be fitted and bike is as quiet as it was when new. a good lubing of chain too, lets hope mrs S insn't too unhappy with me using the towel i did to clean the chain ;)

Washed mine today, nice and sparkly, come tomorrow night after first commute probably be black again though, checked it over and looking forward to getting back on the open road. My body might not be as still not fully over my stinking cold I had which put me in bed new year!

not used mine since the ice/snow snap in mid Dec, put on the best part of a stone since them i suspect, mostly in the last two weeks

it was all good then barring a feeelfy chain and some rather dodgy gear indexing

and that will have to do tomorrow morning, barring some extra air in the tyres if needed

hopefully my bimbles about on Boris bikes in the interim wil have kept the legs in some sort of shape

Just replaced the lower cartridge bearing in the MTB, had a spare, and the existing one has been in years (over 10) - the bearing race has started to get a little pitted....so replaced it......

One slight issue with the locknut stripping (the bike originally had a very low stack headset) so not much steerer to grab. Found a spare locknut though.

No cleaning needed..both the MTB and Fixed were cleaned and oiled after my last commute before Xmas........

Although, not sure which bike it will be yet - signs of ice tomorrow.......... argh......

Damn, back to work tomorrow and I haven't ridden the commute bike for three weeks (I rode the 'cross bike during the snowy period).

Haven't had a chance to check it over, I'll have to ride to the pub tonight just to make sure it's all working fine, dislodge a bit of the rust from the chain as I go.

I've been riding the bike throughout the Christmas period, but still have concerns over how snug the work trousers will be tomorrow.... ;)

Had the paddy wagon in bits yesterday.....Brakes and cables need replacing (got rid of the tektro calipers and replaced them with a set of old Ultegras I had knocking about). New Chain required as well as fixed sprocket and freewheel, might as well change the chain ring whilst I'm at it. Gonna need a respray by the end of the year. There are lots of little rusy bits in hard to get places! Just have to sell my archery kit soon to get my new bike and I can rest the paddy wagon properly.
