Personally havent cycled in since the snow started before christmas. My bike sits forlorn in the basement at work.....

Hoping to take it home tomorrow and get it al shiny again for the new year.

(After reading post on essential maintenance though, I will be bringing in my multitool and a pump)

Did Tuesday, was ok but I tend to use side roads, singletrack and bridal paths, all of which were hard work on 28mm slicks, think I will give it another go tomorrow as its melting nicely now and I really need the exercise again.

Wussed out this week and to be honest most of last week but from next week I am going to get back on the bike. As mentioned before a high percentage of Joe Public has the inability to control a car or Van in the snowy conditions and think that wheel spinning makes them hero's and more sexually attractive to the other sex

Me! Given my history on ice, it's been for the best.

The temps are finally looking up for next week, so I intend to get back in the saddle for 2010 from next Tuesday.

(BTW - has the Roseburn path thawed out yet between Groathill Av and Russell Road, or is it still a long sheet of wet ice? And if it's ice, is the long downhill stretch of Murrayfield Road between Ravelston Dykes and Corstorphine Road ice-free, since that's my on-road alternative route?)

Ta for that - I'll try the path on Tues and take it easy (I ride it at around 6.20am so it's dark and I'll need to be careful).

Since ther was no sign of the inch-thick ice/compacted snow ANYWHERE around work this morning, I'm pretty confident that the path is now fine for use as the usual shortcut between Groathill & Roseburn.

I'm SO looking forward to being back in the saddle tomorrow. Will have to be careful of the myriad of new potholes on the roads though!
