if I take my time about typing a reply I get timed out. Sometimes I'll log in as requested and all is well, but sometimes the forum just ain't having it. Is there anyway I can adjust the timing out interval.

(note to the young folk - keep it simple)

When you login your cookie sets a session time-out value of 1800 second (30 mins).

Each action on the forums resets the timer.

If you're taking more than 30 mins. to compose a reply your session will time out.

There's no way of overriding this on a per-user basis.

Cheers,
Shaun

Oh, I forgot to add a tip: Before posting, press CTRL+A to select all of your post, then CTRL+C to copy it.

This way, if your session has timed out, you can go back and CTRL+P to paste it back in.

Cheers,
Shaun

thanks Shaun.

I have done it in Word before now, and cut and pasted from Powerpoint, (which is odd if your .pptx text is white), but the truth is that I'm not very organised, and usually have six or seven screens on the go at once, flipping between the stuff I should be doing and the stuff that is fun to do - and losing track of time in the flipping.
