Firstly I won't be wearing any short's this Summer as I don't have the leg's for them, But I will be wearing Summer tights, which are nice and cool, only problem that I have noticed is that the hair's on my legs protrude out of the material, I am not really hairy just average I suppose, should I shave or not.

I read on this forum that You should look into changing your chain and rear casssett after 2500 miles, I am not far from that number now, would it be worth changing the wheel bearings while I am at it.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Yes, and no.

Fixed wheel fanatic.
Change your chain when it is worn over the limit - Sheldon tells you how (just near the bottom of the page) http://sheldonbrown.com/chains.html
If your chain isn't too worn you'll get loads of chains worth out of one cassette. I'm still on my original cassette and on my fourth or fifth chain.

Wheel bearings like a service every now and again, it's a pretty easy job and the tools are pretty cheap. http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/hub-overhaul-and-adjustment

Shaving - do it if you want, a friend uses clippers without the guard rather than 'proper' shaving.

What are you worried about? Protruding hairs slowing you down or your appearance?

Shaving is a commitment thing. Once you do it it feels good but stubble doesn't.

Shaving your legs will create two more problems.

1. Where do you stop shaving? Just above the short line or at the start of your bum cheeks. Either way you'll like you've got hairy pants on.

2. If you do shave, wait until it's started to grow back. It'll itch like crazy, especially in sensitive areas. They'll catch in everything you wear.

I used to but no longer. The hairs protect my legs fro the sun a little, I'm not a pro and I've accepted my hairyness.

Shaving when racing I can just about understand - you are pushing the limits and the result may well be a fall. Road grit and hair don't mix well but unless you mean to fall of a lot [each to their own, I usually try to avoid it] it really doesn't make much difference. Unless you have leg hair like a wooly mamoth I'd give it a miss.

Stopping a little low there. Problem number 2 is that you're not doing it regularly enough. Once every 2-3 days only takes 5 min & keeps everything more-or-less hairless.
