On my Friday morning ride today, approaching multi-lane junction. Sitting in primary in the inside lane getting ready to stop behind the 4 or 5 cars waiting at red to turn left. Usual story, driver decides to get past me before the lights. Realises when beside me there isn't enough time so just pulls in squeezing me towards the kerb. I hold position and we end up stopped side by side.

I am glaring in at the driver when a black Discovery pulls alongside in the outside lane and blasts the horn. Next thing he points at me and indicates very clearly to the driver that what they did was stupid and put me in danger.

That made a pleasant change. Thanks.

Nice one there .

We rode to York yesterday and some of the roads are narrow and twisting .When we realised a queue was forming behind us we pulled over to the nearest drive way or entrance to a field and waved them on .

Large trucks and cars either honked us or in one case an older lady waved at us .Share the road and think about each other .

One trucker nearly gave us a song with his horn he so appreciated our getting out of his way .Takes no time at all out of your days ride .

On one set of lights of my commute i have to turn right, So I'm at the front and go straight on, taking the corner extremely wide and wave all the cars through and join on at the back. It never fails to get a wave of thank you from some of the drivers.

Also at lights if a lorry or bus is close behind i stay put and wave them through, this also never fails to get a wave of thanks and what has it cost me ? Maybe ten seconds to my commute !

Trevors driver does seem extraordinary in that he acted on behalf of someone he didn't know but nice drivers are out there, sometimes you just have to show them an act of kindness before they realise your human.
