Please can you give me some details of your route.....

I have a visitor coming up and thought it'd be fun to do a ride across the bridge. We'll be leaving Musselburgh, heading towards and across bridge, then around a bit and back.

I can get us to Cramond, but then get stuck - can you cross river here? I'd rather not just go along the A90.

Many thanks,

Matt

The best way I've found to the bridge thanks to the folk here from cramond brig: is to follow the ncn contraflow up the hill to the first overbrdge of the A90, turn left over the bridge along burnshot road, continue past the airport till you see the signs for the Queen Elizabeth yard and turn right head up the hill and just over the crest turn left past the QE yard. Follow that road to the B800 and turn right. At the small roundabout carry on straight through untill you see the shell garage turn right and follow the road around the back untill you come to a carpark entrance turn left to the shared footway then right and you're onto the bridge.

Edit: from crammond itself if you take on Whitehouse Road if you're comming from the shore turn right at the toucan into Brae Park Road (the little road goes down steeply to an old stone bridge, the bridge is bollarded to cars but you can proceed to the Crammond Brig.

are we the same people gavster?

that's the route i take and by the looks of it, from the same house!

only difference is that i avoid the coastal path from inverkeithing to the bay and go along the main road, i.e. through inverkeithing to the double roundabout and up the main road so that the high school is on your left and then up past the granary and sports centre... the way i would drive it.

I live just over from the anchor at St David's so the Coastal Path makes sense for me. The only pain is the little but very steep hill at King Street.

Apart from that - peice of proverbial.

You can spot me easily - I'll be the guy on the Dawes Galaxy going slowly

I was cycling to Kirkcaldy and didn't notice that there was a cycle lane on the bridge, I continued on the carriageway. I noticed that it had gone very quiet- they had stopped the traffic as I was on the road
A service vehicle drew up at the same time as I realised my mistake.
