Yes, Google is brilliant. I have never had cause to use it, but somewhere out there is a spintastic clip of how to replace the door seal on a washing machine. Awesome!

As for me, no, I didn't really do anything to be proud of yesterday, although, I did cut my toenails, which is better than nothing!
Oh yes, and the day before I took Cindy for a nice long walk, freezing my bits off and standing in dogsh*te in the process and buying a Microwave as a (wanted) home warming/Christmas present for my brother (not at the same time, Cindy wasn't there helping me choose).

I have finished re-laying slabs on my patio.
When the 'professionals' did it, they bridged the damp proof course, cracked a whole load of slabs and left grout lines 4" wide.

Pah, amateurs ... I was awake until 04:00 so I didn't even wake up until 10:30 and am still in bed checking emails etc. on my trusty Galaxy Tab.
I am proud to announce that my toils on eBay finally paid off when my bid secured a smartphone for my Christmas present! I saw that this auction was finishing early on a Sunday and thought I stood a chance if I made a significantly bigger maximum bid late on Saturday night.

slept in late, did some christmas shopping with SWMBO, ate pizza, bought a black forrest gatau, got a big fan for the new pc, achieved level 22 in Skyrim and shot many kerbals into space and found a bug in the program and i'm waiting on a fix.
oh and got the youngest an ipod touch which i'm going to have to setup later when i get home from work.

I washed the car.
That might seem a small thing but usually I only wash the car just before the service/MOT.
Also got the van started. It had been stood 5 weeks since my return from France and the battery was flat but after an overnight charge up it started first go. Took it for a run and filled the tank. It doesn't need washing.

Today, I'm mostly proud of Miss A_T who has worked 4 weeks without a day off because she got a paid temporary job as a teaching assistant but kept her week-end shop job going because she didn't want to let the shop down just before Christmas. She's grown up so fast.

I'm proud of getting my youngest a long black leather coat on ebay for Christmas. (It's not her only pressie, I hasten to add.) I was looking 'cos she's had difficulty finding a practical coat, and spotted this one, which is...well, 'practical' is not necessarily the first word that springs to mind. But it's kind of iconic - *the* coat for disaffected youth - and I think she'll love it. And if she doesn't, well, I didn't pay a whole helluva lot for it, so it'll be no great harm done.
(I'm not proud, as such, but in keeping with this thread...a neighbour spotted me swapping out our old car battery for a new one I got online. 'Car trouble?' she said. 'No,' says I, 'it was just getting on a bit and I didn't want it leaving us strnaded this winter so I thought I'd get a new one.' 'And you do it *yourself*,' says she, sounding well-impressed. She's obviously one of these people who calls in The Professionals if a light-bulb goes....)
