For the moment I'm more or less doing your journey in reverse (Deptford to Orpington) but I'm consistently coming in at under 30 miles. Do you have a favourite detour that I don't know about?
yes I do. I head down the A21 to Green St Green, then Orpington, Petts Wood, Bromley, Shortlands then join the A21 at McDonalds, to Lewisham/Deptford. 18 miles there, 17 miles back.
