Hi all, I'm looking to build up a Scott CR1 frame with BB91 press fit and Campagnolo hub Fulcrum 3 wheels, so need to use a combination of Campy drivetrain with either FSA or Shimano crankset. I also have a GT commuter bike that I need to replace a Shimano integrated BB for. I'm looking therefore to get a starter tool kit that has cross compatible Shimano and Campagnolo tools. Wondered about people's opinions on these:

Im not sure what tools exactly you needed. But you may nees to get separate tools as campag and shimano doesnt do compatibility

You will be paying for lots of tools that you won't be able to use- hollowtech II BB tool, cone spanners etc etc.

Campagnolo equipment uses the same usual tools (hex keys etc) as Shimano apart from very minor differences in the screwed in external BB tool (basically one will work the other) and slightly bigger difference in the cassette locknut tool (you will need Campagnolo or Shimano as they are not interchangeable).

The BB91 requires a very different set of tools in order to service it - a bearing extractor and a bearing press. You won't get these in a kit.

Fulcrum 3 wheels just require a hex key, general purpose spanner and screwdriver to service.

So I would buy kit in bits and get better quality while you are at it - hex keys, good quality Park chainsplitter, Cable cutters etc
