Topeak Super Explorer nuts

Hi

First post - hopefully its in the right place!

Just got a question about this rack - specifically the nuts in the kit. They seem to not be like standard nuts in that you cant get a screw all the way through (as in this picture http://www.ktm950.info/how/assets/images/nuts_bolts.gif)

instead, they have like a plastic bit on one side which stops the screw. unfortunatly that means that the screws arent tight against the rack so everything's all loose and moves about a lot...

cant be right, surely?!

Do you mean that they have a ring of plastic / nylon material inset on one side?

Lock Nuts

These are locknuts and they require more force (torque) to tighten but the increased locking force prevents the nut from coming undone due to vibration.
