Track pump spares or repair

The presta adapter on my specialised branded track pump doesn't seem to lock in place as well as it used to; it'll frequently blow off.

I'm not sure how the mechanism works, or if it can be repaired. Any ideas?

If replacement head is needed, any recommendations?

Unscrew head, remove rubber grippy bit, wrap layer of tape round outside, squeeze back into head.

Has worked for me while looking for sensibly priced replacement rubbery bit.

I could have recommend the Halfords Advanced had they not changed the model to a new design. Mine has a metal connection block.
