I'll need to get a trainer or rollers eventually and since I don't take the heat very well I though I'd go ahead and get one now Which do you prefer and why, which to buy, anything I should know about them, etc. would be great! Also, what do you use and what do you think of it?

Try these (easy to ride on) rollers. In addition to using your gears, they have levels of resistance 0-1-2-3.

I have rollers and a turbo trainer. The turbo is far easier to 'live with' and you aren't going to "come off" it at 30 mph. If you buy a smart turbo trainer you can connect to things like Zwift, Rouvy and MyWhoosh (the latter is free), which adds it a bit of variety to the monotony of indoor training. It's a PC 'game' as such and you ride with others, or on your own, and it has training plans and routes you can try including simulating hills etc as you ride round the virtual maps.

If you are somewhere hot, go out first thing for an hour in the 'real world' - nothing replaces that. I'm using my turbo when I'm working from home as I prefer to commute to work, when in the office, by bike !
