Just like those damn cyclists that always ride on pavements, jump red lights etc...
As someone who has lived the traveller lifestyle for around 18 months I am always saddened to see that its still seen as acceptable to label a whole group of our society in such a way. The folks I was traveling with did have expensive vehicles and fancy caravans, but I'd guess they were worth far less than the average house, but because they choose to spend their money in a non conventional way its always assumed that they're sponging and generally upto no good. As with any group in society travelers have their undesirables, but if you believe that the majority of travelers are like that or indeed want those to continue traveling with them you'd be wrong.
