I am having problems with a Tronic Cycle Speedo from Lidl.

German manufacturer has been V good, replacing twice, BUT....

Unit shows "ERR" when switched on (apparently normal when recieving an outside wireless signal, but should clear when out of range.) I get this, miles from anywhere, with no electrical equipment present.

Unit also continues to give erratic readings when off the bike.

If this is caused by picking up mobile phone signals, it will be useless.

Has anyone else had this problem?

First, welcome to CC & all that.

I think it is the nature of the beast that you pay for what you get. I do not know anything about your particular speedo, but I am going to make an assumption that it is of similar price & build quality to the Tchibo one I have had for about a year. A perfectly good disposable piece of kit that now needs replacing.

I agree with most of what you say. This unit seems representative of the basic speedo's sold in Halfords, Tesco etc.
I am still puzzled that a replacement unit behaves in the same erratic fashion as the old. (I now have 3 redundant transmitter units, which is probably why I have not binned it before now.)
Lidl must have sold thousands of these and I simply wondered how many others had this problem and is there a solution.
