I got involved in a chat here about steel bike frames and how in my mind it is all about selling 50 year old technology at inflated prices and it brought to my mind this;

These are triple glazed windows where the middle leaf is 0.5mm (yes a half a millimetre) thick glass, this is not a joke it is aimed at normal house windows.

Triple glazing is <expletive deleted>, it is heavy, expensive and we have years of building houses with windows designed for an IGU of a standard thickness/depth.

Double glazed units are normally made on production lines where rubbery sink plunger like things are slammed onto sheets of glass which are then cut and dumped in to "supermarket trolley like racks in terms of sophistication" (slot carts https://www.hegla.com/en/products/glass-storage-systems/) to be moved on to sealing lines.

Glass is normally pretty tough, but 0.5mm thick glass doesn't like this.

My first thought, and I have no idea if it even applies, is who is this aimed at. New builds ? Does it meet or exceed thermal.properties required for new builds, is it aimed at the replacement market? Who is going to buy it ?
Could a replacement panel fit within a DG frame ?
On the grounds my windows are over 25 years old. I'd be more worried about heat loss through gasket and seal failure than trying to improve efficiency via TG.
