Pushing with a strong tail wind my cycling buddy collapsed in a pile in front of me after hitting a totally black speed bump, It was on the new stretch between Burton point and The Harp pub.
We get him up and check him over and it turns out another cyclist had fallen really badly a few minutes before us and is laying on the grass verge.
My buddy has road rash a few bruises and his clothing it a right mess, but the previous guy was in lots of pain and later find out he's done something to the discs in his back....ouch.

Most of the speed humps are the screwed down plastic jobbies, but this one seems to be concrete and tarmac...not good

I know the one you are talking about. It caught me out, it's not marked in any way. Do you know which council is responsible for that section of path?

Report it here http://www.fillthathole.org.uk/ It will be reported to the correct authority automatically (if you put the correct location in. Provide the evidence of what has already happened. That ought to get it fixed

I noticed those new markings yesterday, I already knew the speed bump was there but since the resurfacing it doesn't stand out quite so well.

Further to add, seems ironic that a device designed to promote road safety actually leads to an accident. That might well be the first recorded incident on that stretch (it was a road before remember) and caused by something purposely put in place to improve safety.

Brilliant.

Some of the posters on aboutmyarea are cooing about the speed bumps "keep the lycra louts in check", blissfully ignoring the fact that it's drivers that pose the greatest threat. Only in Britain (it sometimes seems) that a world class cycle path infrastructure could be installed only to be made sub-par by the installation of speed bumps days later. Imagine if every new road had speed bumps installed as a matter of course?

Rant over.

That's the exact spot and to be fair a little has been done.

CTC have been great and even got a response from Cheshire West council......they did say it was all highlighted bumps, but they have took action.
I'll push my friend to get reimbursed for his clothing and will pass this info on to the guy that got really hurt......The internet really does work
