They will work but not ideal. I presume you were after these.

I’m not sure I was after a clincher I think as the rim I have has the hooks.

Would the one I listed not work at all?

The one you’ve bought is a clincher , one is clincher tubeless (the one you’ve bought) the other is clincher tubed (which is what you want if using tubes).

ah ok so the ones I have will fit to the rim?

It’s just they don’t need tubes which is what I prefer, I assume using tubes is ok, just not ideal like you said?

Thanks as well, I get myself all confused with the terms like a total fool.

Yes you are thinking of tubular which is nothing to do with tubeless. The ones you have will work but not ideal , and likely puncture more than the ones designed for tubes.

Why? On what basis?

The tubed ones have a more robust puncture belt in them, than the tubeless. The tubeless making up for that with sealant, except OP will be using tubes with them negating that.

Hmmm! Don't think Pirelli's cross-sections support your assertion (see below)
Confess slightly surprised that the OP is choosing such tyres given his bike stable :training::wahhey:

Only reason I went with the Pirelli is I have them on the Merida and they feel really grippy.

I had Vitoria tyres before and they perished quite badly, the Gatorakins I tried were just awful for me I had utterly no confidence in corners.

@Ming the Merciless The store I purchased the tyres from is allowing me to return them in exchange for tube specific ones, still Perilli and it’s the classic look as well, I just need to cover the additional postage and cost.
