What is an "assault rifle".
Thanks. I feel better informed about the issues around gun control in US.
Going back to the OP, a STOP sign means you stop. If you don’t you risk being pulled up. No problem with that. Anyone been knocked off their bikes by someone who came across a stop sign and then said they didn’t see you?

Perhaps it's a republican thing but French road policing also has the same quaint idea that STOP means STOP. The British driver knows that it means SLOW DOWN IF YOU REALLY REALLY HAVE TO. Remember that if you ever drive in France.

Same here with stop signs. They like to hide round the corner near to really remote ones in the countryside where there's never anything coming, then fine you €200 if you don't quite stop.

Motorbikes aren't allowed to filter in the US (not sure if all states) - be interesting to know what the rules are in the US for cyclists?

However, having watched Premium Rush, an action film about bike couriers in NYC, it would appear anything goes (but that wasn't real, although I suspect has some basis in truth)!
