Dear cyclists

I am a researcher at the University of Gloucestershire, UK and I am conducting research on cyclists. I am interested in understanding your personality, your experiences of pain whilst cycling, and your cycling experiences.

The study is conducted online and it should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.

By participating in this study, you will be providing information that could help researchers understand psychology and cycling. Results of this study will also help coaches design training regimes that are more appropriate for cyclists' needs. There are no known risks associated with this research. Members of the University of Gloucestershire, Faculty of Applied Science Research Ethics Panel (FREP) have reviewed this study.

If you would like to participate in this study, please click the following link and complete the questionnaires:

Results of the study will be published on a designated Facebook page that you can find at the end of the questionnaire.

Kind regards

Done the first batch - didn't seem to be related to cycling in any way ?
And the questions about pain were ambiguous. If my muscles hurt because I've done a long bike ride (or have other 'good' self inflicted causes - i.e. not a hangover!) then the pain is more like a badge of honour. If it is pain from some unspecified internal cause (that could be anything from indigestion to stomach cancer) then it is less put-up-able-with. This kind of difference is not reflected in the questions. And some of the questions about goals - I could have answered those differently if they were about leisure goals (cycling a century) than if they are about work goals (meeting the next deadline - which I am currently obviously not concentrating on because I am faffing about doing surveys instead!)

Sorry, got bored answering 10 questions all very closely related. Also, on p3 the true/untrue got flipped so had to go back...then gave up.
