Upgraded my Trek Madone to Ultegra Di2 - What do I do with the exposed braze-ons?

Hi folks!

I just recently upgraded my Trek Madone to Ultegra Di2 componentry. I have a question that I hope someone can answer. My frame has braze-on fittings for the shifting cables on the downtube. Now that I no longer need cables for shifting, I am stuck with the braze-ons. If I take the fittings off, it exposes the ugly square (bare) braze-ons. So, I'm trying to find something to put over it, that will conceal it from view. If anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

grecinos

Any chance of pictures?

I work as an engineer in a large factory ... being inventive to fix stuff on a day to day basis is part of
my job.

Here's a photo of the braze-on:

Short of some extensive modification, ie: cutting them off, filing them back, re-painting etc, you could just stick your cable stops back on, at least it would be slightly more aesthetic than it is now.

Or modify two black DICE and screw them on. You could drill through the single dot so the screw head became the dot if you know what I mean :becool:

Hehe, that's sounds like a cool idea, will have to think about that one. As for cutting them off, I think would be a bad idea because it would void the warranty. In the meantime, yes, I normally keep the old cable stops on. You're right, it does look more pleasing then the bar braze-ons. Here's a photo. There's supposed to be a screw that goes in the middle, but I don't have a photo of that for the moment.

I put plastic beads, in the contrast colour to the frame on my un-used gear lever braze-ons. I had to drill the hole out bigger, and used a M5 screw to hold them on.

Little frame bag and run the straps over them?
