Urgent Help!!....Do spaniards need passports?

towards the end it seems to say you need a passport for the UK as it is non Schengen

French nationals can enter the Uk with their ID card, British nationals cannot use their French ID card. I presume the same applies to Spain.

My Spanish inlaws always travel to the UK with their ID cards only (no passports needed).

Interesting, I always thought that one could forgo the passport for domestic flights only.

My reply may be too late and too unhelpful, but UK Border Control, or whatever it calls itself, can be pretty snotty.

I wouldn't feel 100% confident without a passport, even if a govt website says it's possible and legal - they may end up having a lot of hassle with individuals who don't know the law, especially if they're Spanish and English is their 2nd lingo.
