Got in from work and needed to nip into town to to collect a prescription. Put the commuter away grabbed the BSO, tatty Raleigh MT20 and off I went.

Parked it up across from the Boots left it unlocked as always, hoping some one would steal it and in I went. Took longer than normal and got back to the BSO about 15 minutes later to find that someone had stolen just ONE pedal.

What a nerd! Pal you could have had the bike, stealing just one pedal is not funny, not funny at all I had to push it all the home.

If I find you I will wipe that smile off your face and make you keep the feckin bike, capiche

Why would anybody want to nick one pedal, barsteward

who goes around with a pedal spanner just on the off-chance?

someone who does this a lot?

Mine has quick release pedals so I always have to take them with me when the bike's left in a public place. They do have the advantage of making it harder for someone to ride off with the bike.

I used to have a 15mm spanner in my back pocket/side pocket of my shorts when i was riding fixed in my normal clothes.
Now i just have on in a saddle bag, but back then i didnt.
Maybe it was a normal cyclist, who had that pedal brake, saw your shitty bike, thinking it was dumped, thought he would borrow your pedal?

Look on the bright side SB.

you can tell SWMBO it's been damaged, and i'm sure you can come up with a rational explanation why those special pedals are more expensive than a new bile.

Tried it, no joy, her retort "plastic pedal.....new bike...how about a new kitchen first". Crawls back in to box to devise another cunning plan.;)

Ask if she'd rather you spent the money on bicycle bits and bobs or some floozy... given that choice, a new bike is yours! Guaranteed!

That's the second story i've heard on here where a pedal has been stolen? I don't uderstand why, neither how. Practically every time I need to remove a pedal it takes hours of work with pedal spanner, plusgas, heatgun, hammer etc.
